To Be God’s Servants in the Service of Others
The United Church of Christ’s Statement of Faith reminds us that we are to serve God by serving others. Here at Faith, we seek to live out this call in a number of ways—one of which is by our support of local ministries like: Interfaith Caregivers; Habitat for Humanity, Family Promise, Casa Guadalupe.
The Mission Team would like to give you the opportunity to get an up-close look at these ministries on Mission Sunday, April 29, 2018. All church members and guest are welcome to join! You’ll have the chance to visit one of the four ministries that morning. You’ll meet a staff member, find out a bit about the ministry, and then do some hands-on work during your visit—maybe you’ll make preparations for Casa’s big fiesta at Regner Park, or hammer a few nails at Habitat, or tour the new Family Promise homeless shelter, or visit with a Senior at Interfaith.
After the “field trip,” it’s back to the church for a delicious lunch and a chance to share the story of the ministry you visited with the other groups who went on their own adventure to an area ministry.
The Morning’s schedule:
9:30 am Continental breakfast at church.
Prayers and songs to give thanks to God
10 am Carpool to ministries
11:45 am Arrive at church for lunch and story sharing.
A Mission or Worship team member will be in the narthex, beginning Easter Sunday, to talk with you about Mission Sunday, and assist you in signing up.
